Објавено: December 11, 2024

The first kick-off meeting for the project “Personalized Education in Measurement Science and Technology Empowered by Machine Learning” (PEMS-ML) took place on December 5–6, 2024, at the FabLab Faculty laboratory and the Center for Technology Transfer and Innovation, both part of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies (FEEIT) at the “Ss. Cyril and Methodius” University in Skopje. During the meeting, participants established the project’s foundational guidelines, outlined roles and responsibilities, and presented the two-year implementation timeline. Discussions focused on planned activities and project objectives, highlighting the significance of collaboration and effective communication throughout the implementation process.

PEMS-ML is a project led by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies (FEEIT) at “Ss. Cyril and Methodius” University in Skopje under the KA220-HED – Cooperation Partnerships in Higher Education program. With a duration of two years and a total budget of 120,000 euros, the project is co-financed by the Erasmus+ program of the European Union and officially commenced on November 1, 2024. In addition to FEIT as the lead partner, the project involves collaboration with Politecnico di Milano (Polimi) and the Faculty of Electronics at the University of Niš (UNI). The representatives from the Department of Electronics, Information, and Bioengineering at the Politecnico di Milano were Marco Faifer (Team Coordinator), Loredana Cristaldi, and Christian Laurano. From the Faculty of Electronics Engineering at the University of Nis, the attendees included Milan Dinčić (Team Coordinator), Dragan Denić, Jelena Jovanović, and Milica Stojanović. From the leading organization (UKIM) representatives of the team were: Mare Srbinovska (Team Coordinator), Vladimir Dimchev, Zhivko Kokolanski and Kiril Demerdziev.

The project aims to develop an innovative approach to personalized learning in higher education, specifically within the field of measurement technology. This concept aligns with the principles of Education 5.0, which emphasize placing the student and their individual characteristics at the center of the educational process. Expected outcomes include the creation of interactive multimedia materials and the development of software platforms designed to support personalized learning experiences.

The two-day agenda began with an introductory meeting led by the Dean, Prof. Dr. Vladimir Atanasovski, who extended his best wishes for the successful and efficient implementation of the project. The discussion centered on introducing innovative approaches to personalized education in measurement science and technology and exploring new techniques to enhance students’ mastery of the learning material.

Following this, the meeting proceeded with presentations from each partner institution, highlighting the courses covered under the project. Participants focused on establishing unified templates for project promotion, including the development of a single project logo alongside the logos of all participating universities.

As part of Work Package 2, discussions focused on analyzing the need for personalized learning and reviewing existing courses. This included defining innovative course content and developing teaching methodologies aligned with the personalized learning approach.

Under Work Package 4, participants addressed strategies for project dissemination, including the creation of promotional materials such as brochures and flyers to enhance project visibility. Additionally, it was proposed to present project activities at various conferences to further promote its objectives and outcomes.
