Successful Energy and Sustainability Day at FEEIT

Објавено: April 29, 2025

On April 28, 2025, the second edition of the Energy and Sustainability Day was held at the premises of InnoFEIT, organized by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies (FEIT) and the Macedonian section of IEEE.
The event took place as part of the global initiative “Sustainable Energy Days,” supported by the European Commission, with the aim of promoting the use of clean energy and energy efficiency.
The event began with brief presentations on current research activities conducted by FEIT staff in areas related to energy, energy efficiency, sustainability, and new approaches in teaching. The results of the following were particularly highlighted:
• 3 ERASMUS+ projects (EcoMinds, PEMS-ML and EvolvE),
• 2 IPA ADRION Interreg projects (INNOVABLUE, GOTOTWIN),
• 3 Horizon Europe projects (INITIATE, TRANSIT, R2D2),
• and 1 bilateral project.
Parallel to the presentations, a workshop intended for high school students was held at the FEIT-FABLAB space starting at 10 a.m. The workshop was attended by 17 students from several high schools, who had the opportunity to learn more about the working principles of power plants that use renewable energy sources, concepts of self-consumption, and the integration of renewable energy production into the power system. At the end of the workshop, the students created house models powered by small photovoltaic panels, giving them hands-on experience with the basic principles of renewable energy use.
The logistical organization of the event was carried out by FEIT professors – Prof. Goga Cvetkovski and Assoc. Prof. Maja Celeska Krstevska from the Institute of Electrical Machines, Transformers and Apparatus, and Prof. Aleksandra Krkoleva Mateska and Assoc. Prof. Petar Krstevski from the Institute of Institute of Power Systems. Additionally, students from the EAOIE and EES study programs selflessly contributed as mentors to the high school students during the workshop.
FEIT remains committed to promoting sustainability and energy efficiency through its educational and research activities, as well as through the direct involvement of younger generations in learning and creation processes.
