The Center for Technology Transfer and Innovation – INNOFEIT and the Fund for Innovation and Technological Development (FITD) signed today a co-financing agreement for the INNOFEIT EDIH project (European Digital Innovation Hub), which serves as a leading platform for digital transformation, innovation, and technological development in Macedonia. The project will be implemented by a consortium led by INNOFEIT. Its aim is to provide strategic support to micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises and public institutions, enhancing their competitiveness through the adoption of advanced digital technologies.
“This agreement marks a new chapter in our joint efforts to develop a sustainable, competitive, and technologically advanced economy by combining the development policies, infrastructure, and knowledge of FITD and INNOFEIT. Today, we are opening new horizons for our companies to access cutting-edge technologies, training, and funding – all they need to grow and remain competitive. I believe that through such partnerships, we are building a new, digital, innovative, and European economy,” said Nikola Dodov, Acting Director of the Fund for Innovation and Technological Development.
“With today’s agreement, national co-financing for INNOFEIT EDIH for 2025 and 2026 is secured, demonstrating our country’s strong commitment to digital transformation, innovation support, and increasing the competitiveness of our companies. The state’s support is proof of its vision and recognition of INNOFEIT’s capacity and its role in boosting innovation and developing digital services in Macedonian society. I express my sincere gratitude to FITD for supporting the project,” said Prof. Dimitar Tashkovski, Director of INNOFEIT.
“Our Center for Technology Transfer and Innovation has once again proven to be a leader in the Macedonian innovation ecosystem by securing the project to establish the first EDIH in Macedonia. Co-financing from FITD is essential for the smooth implementation of project activities and achieving the project’s goals toward the digital and green transformation of our society. Establishing infrastructure such as EDIH is a significant step toward aligning with European practices in innovation development and technology transfer,” stated Prof. Vladimir Atanasovski, Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies (FЕEIT).
As part of its mission, INNOFEIT EDIH offers services such as:
- Test before invest – access to laboratories and digital tools for experimenting with innovative technologies;
- Digital skills development – training and courses in key technological areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and robotics;
- Access to finance – support in identifying and utilizing funding opportunities through grants, European funds, and investors;
- Networking and ecosystem building – organizing events and hackathons to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange.
INNOFEIT EDIH is part of the European network of Digital Innovation Hubs, co-financed by the European Commission through the Digital Europe Programme 2021–2027 and the Government of the Republic of Macedonia. Over the next four years, the center will provide more than 300 free services valued at 2 million euros, focused on digitalization and technological advancement.
