The AquaSCADA team from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies (FEEIT) won first place at the first INNOVABLUE Hackathon, competing against more than 30 teams from across the region. The INNOVABLUE Hackathon was held through two dedicated events – in Skopje and Šibenik, bringing together students, young researchers, engineers and innovators from several countries across the ADRION region to address challenges related to the blue economy, sustainable water resource management, and the application of emerging technologies.
The AquaSCADA team consists of Teona Antonoska, Andjela Kostadinova, Andrea Gjosheva and Ana Sofronievska, under the mentorship of Assoc. Prof. Filip Doncevski. As the winning team, AquaSCADA received a €5,000 support package, including four tailored mentoring sessions delivered by experts from the INNOVABLUE project and DIH Innovamare. The support is aimed at further technological, business and market development of the solution, including its validation, testing and preparation for market deployment. The next step for the AquaSCADA team is participation in the EIT Water & PDJF Regional Hackathon 2026, which will take place on 5 November 2026 in Zadar, Croatia.
