From June 30 to July 2, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies (FEЕIT), together with its Center for Technology Transfer and Innovations – INNOFEIT, hosted a series of events organized within the framework of the INNOVABLUE project, including the PoC Workshop, the 1st Hackathon, and the Blue Adrion Fund Ideation Workshop. These events brought together researchers, students, startups, innovators, industry representatives, and public institutions from across the Adriatic-Ionian region.
During the three-day programme, participants worked in multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative Proof of Concept (PoC) solutions addressing real-world challenges in the blue economy. They also took part in a blue innovation hackathon and contributed to a workshop dedicated to the concept of the Blue Adrion Fund—an initiative aimed at establishing a regional financial mechanism to support the development and market deployment of innovative solutions in the blue economy. Through discussions involving representatives from academia, industry, the public sector, and policy-making institutions, participants explored potential models for the future financing of innovation across the region.
As the host of this prestigious international event, FEEIT once again demonstrated its strong commitment to European research and innovation initiatives, as well as to the development of technologies with tangible social and economic impact. At the same time, these events further reinforced FEEIT’s role as a regional hub for innovation, entrepreneurship, and knowledge transfer. The participation of partners from several ADRION countries highlighted the importance of international cooperation in developing sustainable solutions for the future of the blue economy.
The European project INNOVABLUE is funded through the Interreg IPA ADRION Programme and aims to strengthen innovation capacities, technology transfer, and cross-border cooperation in the field of sustainable blue economy.
