10. Course Goals (acquired competencies):

Gaining knowledge for development and application of regulation in the field of metrology at national and international level as well as application of metrology procedures in industrial applications.

11. Course Syllabus:

Place, role and fields of application of legal metrology. Terminology of legal metrology. International metrology, organization, international systems of units and standards. Insurance of unity of measurements and comparability of the measurement results. Regulation in metrological control. Regulation on measurement instruments. Measurement standards, calibration and instrumentation verification. Accreditation of metrological laboratories/bodies for conformity assessment. Place, role and development of industrial metrology. Metrology and quality infrastructure. national metrological system, primary laboratories, secondary laboratories, calibration and test laboratories. Precise measurements of electrical and non-electrical quantities in industrial applications. Dissemination of the measurement units of the physicаl quantities. Intelligent industrial metrology. Quality management in measurements and calibrations. Inter-comparisons and proficiency testing. Software support for industrial metrology.
