Course Goals (acquired competencies): This course offers students an opportunity to learn about entrepreneurship and management skills and strategies needed to initiate and lead technical projects and to make project plan including project dynamics. Topics covered include understanding the technical environment, managing and motivating team members, understanding organizational culture, interpersonal strategies, and developing a personal leadership approach.
Course Syllabus: Introduction to project management. Definition of project. Project Initiation, Project Documentation, Project Charter. Planning, organizing and leading projects. Key subjects in the projects. Organizing project teams and project leadership. Project Management Parameters. Project opportunities and project risks. Economic aspects of the projects. Business plan and criteria for project success. Real projects and applications as case studies.
