The opening ceremony of the 11th Student Conference on “Energy efficiency and sustainable development” (SCEESD) was held today at the premises of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies (FEEIT) in Skopje. The Conference, which is mainly organized by the students from FEEIT and supported by the faculty’s staff, is organized from 4th until 6th of December 2023. The Conference traditionally welcomes students from FEEIT and from the other faculties of Ss Cyril and Methodius University (UKIM) in Skopje, bringing them together to work on topics related to energy transition and eco-challenges and developing a creative environment where they can suggest and discuss innovative solutions related to these topics. The conference is traditionally supported by UKIM and FEEIT and this year, is also supported by the Macedonian young lawyers’ association, within the framework of the project Youth activism for greener municipalities.
Within the three days of the conference, the authors of 21 student papers will be able to present their scientific work. Additionally, 5 invited lectures from eminent professors, 2 panel discussions and a Workshop will be organized. The panel discussions are related to current eco-challenges and will include young engineers from the SCEESD alumni and representatives from different youth organizations. The Workshop, which will be held on 7th of December 2023, is a traditional event associated to the Conference which is organized for high-school students aiming to raise their environmental awareness.
