Course Goals (acquired competencies): Knowledge of the basic concepts of digital currencies and various aspects of their application: carrier technologies and ICT infrastructure, cryptographic algorithms, digital wallets, mining, security and privacy, regulation and business applications. Introduction to different types of digital currencies and technologies (Bitcoin, Blockchain, Synereo, Counterparty, Hyperledger, DECENT Network. |

ICT systems for digital currencies. Application of symmetric and asymmetric cryptography in digital currencies. Types of digital currencies. Bitcoin and alternative digital currencies. Bitcoin features. Transactions with Bitcoin. Blockchain concepts. Blockchain technologies: Synereo, Counterparty, Hyperledger, DECENT Network. Aspects of intelligent contracts. Blockchain applications. Digital wallets. Mining of digital currencies. Digital Currency Privacy. Security of digital currencies. Risks when using digital currencies. 20. Forms of assessment | During the semester, one partial written exam is taken for a maximum of 90 minutes and tests are conducted during the classes. Instead of taking the second partial exam, a seminar paper or project task (team or individual) is prepared. The final grade includes points from the partial exam, tests and from the seminar paper or project assignment. The partial exam is taken in the exam sessions.
