Course Goals (acquired competencies): This module will enable students to understand, analyze and manage risks in technical projects. In particular the module emphasis on planning and applying appropriate qualitative and quantitative techniques for risk analysis and development of a comprehensive project plan, including a supporting cost control plan and a risk management plan in order to increase power plant availability and security.
Course Syllabus: Introduction to risk management. Risk resources and risk types. Risk management phases. Identify, assess and manage project risks. Qualitative and quantitative techniques for risk analysis. Event and failure tree analysis, Bayesian networks and Markov chain. Plan and evaluate capitaland revenue expenditure as well as monitor and control the project budget.Develop the strategy plan for risk mitigation. Power plants availability and security.
