Course Goals (acquired competencies): Knowledge of advanced methods and trends for ICT implementations (smart sollutions) for achievement of energy efficiency and sustainable development in various areas: energy, transport and logistics, telecommunications, automation, management of infrastructure and public services etc. Readiness for research in these areas.
Course Syllabus: Advanced possibilities for ICT implementations (smart solutions) for energy efficiency and sustainable development. New trends for ICT implementations in: energy management (production, transmission, distribution), transport and logistics, automation of industrial processes, home automation, infrastructure management, management of public services, CO2 emission reduction, global warming and climate change effect reduction, etc. Telepresence as a method for energy efficiency. Trends in energy efficient R&D models. New business models for telecom and energy operators. Regulatory trends. Development of new products and services. Energy consumption in ICT systems. Energy-efficient ICT systems. Optimization methods and models for energy efficiency improvement of ICT systems.
