STUDY PROGRAM: 2-Electrical Machines and Automation (02-EMA)
Duration: 1 year
ECTS points: 60 ECTS
Degree: Master of Science in Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies in the field of Electrical Machines and Automation
The aim of this study programme is to educate personel according to the needs in the modern industry and power sector. The study programme is based upon the quality criteria of the University. It contains fundamental disciplines in the field of electrical machines and automation, accompanied by novel investigations and knowledge, as well as a number of new disciplines that have been developed in accordance with the novel scientific knowledge. The study programme is structured in such a way that enables the students to achieve knowledge and competences necessary for master of science in this area, that are basis for future education and pursuit of technological development.
The study programme is developed in accordance with the criteria, tascs and aims of the FEEIT to keep the high level standards in the education of high quality of personel. This study programme is structured upon the experience in education in similar study programmmes in the past and their permanent development, as well as based upon the colaboration with the industry.
The presented study programme incorporates a wide area of knowledge in the filed of electrical machines and automation, which will enable the students to gain knowledge in the file of electrical machines, their design, possibilities for control and application of novel techniques for speed and torque control, as well as power factor and other parameters. Also students will be trained for proper exploatation of automated electric drives, as well as for their maintenance.
This study programme enables creation of personel that after graduation will become part of the power engineering industry, first of all in companies that maufacture and design electrical machines and transformers, and also in companies for electric power production, transmission and distribution.
After graduation in this study programme there is also a possibility for work in public administration corelated with preparation of low regulations conserning energy efficiency in design and exploatation of electrical machines, as well as in companies for consulting, design and manufacture of electrical equipment. Today power engineering companies face permanent lack of well aducated personal capable to do engineering work, but also to meet all the chalanges in the companies. The privatisation, modernisation and changes in the power engineering sector that were in action in the past period showed that the well educated engineers are the personel that produced the inovations and development in tohse companies.
