From April until December 2023, members from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies (FEEIT) were responsible for developing a smart solar tracking system and integrating it with a mobile photovoltaic generator in the Innovation Centre in Nis. After a period of active development, the FEEIT team completed the system integration on 24.11.2023, during a working visit in Nis, where the system was put in operation.
These activities were part of the IoT SOLTRACK experiment, where FEEIT, together with the Innovation Centre in Nis and the company Alfaklima worked on developing a foldable, mobile and autonomous photovoltaic generator with a smart IoT-based solar tracking system. IoT SOLTRACK was financed by the SMART4ALL project, a H2020 project aimed at enhancing the capacities for cross-border and cross-sectoral knowledge transfer between academia and industry.
The potential market the product is the agricultural sector, but it can also be used in non-electrified rural areas or in emergencies, as a mobile electricity supply.
