10. Course Goals (acquired competencies): The students will learn about the operating systems that are used in wireline communication devices such as telecom digital exchanges, switches, routers, base stations, access points, as well as about the operating systems which are typical for mobile communication devices. |
11. Course Syllabus: Applications and basic concepts of operating systems applied in telecommunications. Operating systems and software platforms that are used in fixed and mobile communication devices. MacOS, Windows, UNIX (Solaris and Linux)-based operating systems applied in fixed communication entities (switches, routers, exchanges, access points, base stations). CISCO IOS. JUNOS. Virtualization and containers (Docker). Operating systems applied in mobile communications (Android, iOS, Windows, Bada, BlackBerry OS, MeeGo OS, Palm OS, Symbian OS, webOS). Network operating systems, services and applications. |
