9. Course Prerequisites
Taken course: Mathematics 3, Signals and Systems
10. Course Goals (acquired competencies): Тhis course will introduce the students to the basic concepts for the analysis of continuous control systems. With successful course completion, the students will acquire the necessary skills to carry out analysis of continuous control systems in the time and frequency domain, and also to analyze their stability by analytical and grapho-analytical approaches.
11. Course Syllabus: 1. Definitions, examples, and classification of linear continuous-time control systems. 2. Analysis of linear continuous-time control systems. Mathematical apparatus for analysis and design. Transfer functions. Block diagrams and rules for their simplification. 3. Time and frequency domain response. Indicators for quality assessment of the system response. 4. Frequently used control algorithms for controller design in linear continuous-time control systems. 5. Stability of linear continuous-time control systems. Analytical and grapho–analytical methods for stability analysis. 6. Root locus. Rules for sketching and root locus analysis. 7. State space. Methods for deriving state-space models. Analysis of stability, controllability and observability based on state-space models.
12. Learning methods: Combined way of learning: lectures, supported by presentations, homework, and auditory exercises, as well as practical laboratory exercises.

19. Conditions for acquiring teacher’s signature and for taking final exam Regular attendance to the lectures and exercises, as well as successful and timely completion of all laboratory exercises.
20. Forms of assessment Two partial written exams are scheduled during the semester (at the middle and at the end of the semester, each with a duration of 120 minutes), as well as tests, which are envisaged to be held on the regular classes, and a test for the laboratory exercises (scheduled after the end of the exercises).
1. Students who have passed the partial exams are considered to have passed the final written exam. A final oral exam can also be scheduled, with a duration of up to 60 minutes. The final grade is formed based on the points from the partial exams, tests and the final oral exam (if scheduled).
2. In the planned exam sessions, a final written exam is taken (duration 120 minutes). For students who have passed the final written exam, a final oral exam can also be scheduled (duration up to 60 minutes). The final grade is formed based on the points from the final written exam, the tests and the final oral exam (if scheduled).
