Course Goals (acquired competencies): This course will introduce the concepts of Industrial Internet of Things to the students. After passing the course, the students will be able to use and implement IIoT-specific advanced and modern methods of control, supervision, optimization and security when working with real-world industrial systems.
Course Syllabus: Introduction: Basic concepts of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), Industry 4.0. Cyber-physical systems in industry and manufacturing. Modeling of cyber-physical systems: mathematical modeling, identification, model evaluation and model verification. Industrial communication and networking: industrial communication protocols and standards, cryptographic security of industrial communication. The role of AI in industry: smart factories, machine learning for industrial process optimization. BigData: working with large quantities of data, acquisition, manipulation, sorting, analysis, BigData in industry. Overview of IIoT platforms of the world’s leading industrial manufacturers and companies.
