10. Course Goals (acquired competencies): The program objective is to gain skills and competencies for optimal design and simulation of different RES based power systems. Assessment of technical and economical project plausibility
11. Course Syllabus: Fundamentals of renewable energy sources (RES) based electricity production capacities. Technical and technology solutions. Design and simulation of different RES based systems. Solar-thermal systems, Photovoltaics, Wind power, Small hydro power plants (SHPP), Bio mass based power systems. Indicative discounted cash flow (DCF) analysis of particular power systems. Definition of capital expenditure – CAPEX, operating expenditure – OPEX, and Revenue. Calculation methods of internal rate of return IRR. Assessment of technical and economical project plausibility. Preparation of Study project in form of feasibility study
12. Learning methods: Learning methods are based on active presence and contribution to the lectures and laboratory/auditory exercises. Homework and study projects as additional activities.

20. Forms of assessment Knowledge testing during the semester is performed through partial exams, preparation of independent projects, assignments, tests, Survey study report
preparation and its presentation. The knowledge assessment is performed by grading each form of activity and testing during the semester. The final examination is performed in a form of oral or written exam.
