| 10. | Course Goals (acquired competencies):
 Introduction to advanced algorithms used in the process of transmission and distribution system planning. Ability for development and use of optimization algorithms for power system planning.  |

| 11. | Course Syllabus:
 Load forecast in electricity networks by using stochastic models and methods based on artificial intelligence (application in Matlab). Transmission system planning: 1. Algorithms for optimal planning of transmission networks – forward, backward and hybrid method (application in Matlab); 2. Power system planning under uncertainties; 3. Algorithms for cost-benefit analyses used in the Ten-Year Network Development Plans of ENTSO-E. Distribution system planning: 1. Application of Matlab for solving Linear Optimization Problem for dimensioning and determination of topology of radial distribution networks; 2. Application of Python for solving Non-linear optimization problem for optimal distribution system planning; 3. Application of method for stochastic robust optimization in the distribution system planning process.  |
