10. | Course Goals (acquired competencies):
After successfully completing this course a student should be able to: identify the difference between the risk and the possibility; to recognize, describe and distinguish the main risk analysis and risk assessment methods and techniques; to perform risk analysis of various types of problems and present the results from the analysis as input to a decision process. |

11. | Course Syllabus:
Introduction to risk management. Phases in risk analysis. Threats, risks, probability and frequency of appearance and influence on the project. Uncertainties assessment and probabilities specification. Risk analysis methods. Qualitative methods: preliminary analysis, HAZard and OPerability study, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis. Tree-based methods: Fault Tree Analysis, Event Tree Analysis, Cause-Consequence Analysis. Quantitative methods: Sensitive analysis, Expected monetary value analysis. Hybrid methods. Monte Carlo simulations. Case studies and application of appropriate method in real projects. |
