10. Course Goals (acquired competencies): To adopt the basic concepts of complex analysis with particular reference to complex algebra and functions, analytic function, Cauchy theorem, residues, Taylor and Laurent series and their application. |

11. Course Syllabus: Complex numbers. Algebra of complex number. Sets in a complex plane. Functions of a complex variable. Analytic functions. Cauchy-Riemann equations. Application in oscillating systems. Line integral of a complex function. Taylor and Laurent series, zeros and singularities. Residues. Application on solving real integrals. |

Forms of assessment | During the semester, two partial written exams are provided (in the 8th and 15th week of the semester, duration up to 90 minutes), and tests can be conducted during the classes. In the scheduled exam sessions, a written exam is taken (duration up to 135 minutes). For students who have passed the partial exams, i.e. the written exam, a final oral exam can be conducted (duration up to 60 minutes). The final grade includes the points from the partial exams, i.e. the written exam, the points from the individual student work (homeworks), the points from the tests and the final oral exam |
