10. Course Goals (acquired competencies): Introducing students to the basic laws and methods of the electric circuits theory. The student will get knowledge about methods and techniques for electric circuit analysis. |
||||||||
11. Course Syllabus: First and second order circuits (RC, RL and RLC). Transient response and steady-state analysis. Sinusoidal steady-state analysis. Phasors. Phasor relationship for circuit elements. Complex numbers (frequency domain). Impedance and admittance. Kirchoff’s laws, and nodal/mesh analysis in frequency domain. AC power analysis. Magnetically coupled circuits. Three-phase circuits. Transfer function. Serial and parallel resonance. Passive filters. Two-port networks. |
||||||||
12. Learning methods: Combined learning: Lectures, supported by presentations and visualization of concepts, active participation of students through tests and tasks to solve in class, homework, auditory and laboratoty exercises. |

19. Conditions for acquiring teacher’s signature and for taking final exam | Attendance of classes and finished laboratory exercises. | |||||||
20. Forms of assessment | The exam is written and consists of two parts: part one – problems and part two – questions. During the semester, there are two partial exams of part one (problems) (at the middle and at the end of the semester, lasting 90 minutes), tests that are conducted during the classes and a test from laboratory exercises (after the exercises). For students who have passed both partial exams of part one (problems), a final written exam of part two (questions) can be conducted (duration 45 minutes). The points from the partial exams (problems), the tests and the final exam (questions) are included in the final grade. In the planned exam sessions, a written exam of part one (problems) is taken (duration 120 minutes). For students who have passed this written exam, a final exam (questions) (duration 45 minutes) can be conducted. The points from the written exam (problems), the tests and the final exam (questions) are included in the final grade. Books and other learning materials are not allowed. |
