A research paper by the team from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies – FEEIT, entitled “Technical and Techno-Economic Feasibility Analysis of a University-Scale Virtual Power Plant”, received the Third Best Paper Award at the International Conference on Renewable Energy Research and Applications – ICRERA 2025, held in Vienna, Austria (October 27–30, 2025).
The authors of the paper are Maja Celeska Krstevska, Aleksandra Krkoleva Mateska, Mare Srbinovska, Petar Krstevski, Vesna Andova, Vladimir Dimchev, and Bodan Velkovski.
Among more than 330 papers submitted by researchers from around the world, this work was recognized among the best based on the quality of the scientific analysis, practical applicability, and multidisciplinary approach. The research represents a joint effort of FEEIT’s academic staff and researchers, integrating the fields of renewable energy sources, digitalization of power systems, energy storage systems, and energy efficiency.
ICRERA is one of the leading IEEE international conferences in the field of renewable energy, advanced power networks, and the integration of new technologies in the energy sector. All conference publications are indexed in IEEE Xplore, and selected papers are further invited for publication in international scientific journals with impact factor.
This recognition once again confirms the high level of scientific excellence at FEEIT and the Faculty’s active contribution to addressing modern energy challenges and developing innovative solutions.
