Giorgia Nieddu – a doctoral student at the Universities of Cagliari and Macerata, as part of her doctoral stay at FEEIT, presented the potential of the application of Artificial Intelligence to improve teaching mathematics in primary and secondary education. She spoke about the ways in which Large Language Models can be used by both students and teachers to facilitate the mastering of mathematical concepts and overcome obstacles in the acquisition of the material. The lecture was held on November 13th at the premises of the Center for Technology Transfer and Innovation – INNOFEIT.
After the lecture, a rich discussion developed with the attending professors and students who were from several faculties of UKIM, including PMF, FINKI and FEEIT, and the Institute of Macedonian Language “Krste Misirkov”, as well as from the secondary vocational school “Mihajlo Pupin”. We had the chance to hear different experiences with the application of AI from both sides of the educational process, as well as to share ideas on how to use to further improve the educational process.
