Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts appoints a FEEIT Professor as its Corresponding Member

Our colleague, Prof. Dr. Zoran Hadzi-Velkov was elected a Corresponding Member of the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts at the Electoral Assembly of the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts, held on March 30, 2022.

Dr. Zoran Hadzi-Velkov is a full professor at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies in Skopje. He is a world-renowned scientist in the field of wireless and mobile communications. He has made important contributions to the research of wireless radio channels, wireless LANs, cooperative and relay communications, wireless transfer of energy and information, and wireless powered communication networks. He has served as Editor of prestigious international journals of IEEE. He has received the best scientist award from the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University, and the Humboldt Scholarship for Experienced Researchers. He has been a mentor to young and talented academic staff, and thus several of his masters and doctoral students are already established as world-renowned scientists and professors at domestic and world-renowned universities.

The Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts appoints its members from among the prominent scientists or artists whose individual scientific works or artistic achievements are internationally recognized as significant contributions, who permanently live in the country and hold its citizenship. Considering that Prof. Hadzi-Velkov has affiliated his higher education and professional career with FEEIT ever since his undergraduate studies at our faculty, his appointment to the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts is an extraordinary recognition for FEEIT as a leading institution for higher education and research in the country.
