FEEIT signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the State School for Rehabilitation of Children and Youth with Visual Impairment “Dimitar Vlahov” – Skopje, which establishes the framework within which the cooperation between the two institutions is realized for the implementation of research, educational and application activities and projects of mutual interest, based on the utilization of the scientific, professional, technical and spatial capacities of the signatories. The Memorandum was signed by Aleksandra Jakovchevska, Director of the School, and Prof. Dr. Vladimir Atanasovski, Dean of FEEIT.
The subject of the cooperation is the development of modern assistive technologies for students with visual impairment in order to provide them with better access to education and new opportunities. The cooperation also includes organizing joint workshops, seminars and trainings for students, researchers and professionals.
During the meeting, Kristijan Lazarev, professor of Macedonian language, presented the needs for the design and implementation of new solutions for the challenges facing the School, and in which the Faculty could help. Prof. Dr. Branislav Gerazov, in turn, spoke about the achievements of FEEIT students in the field of assistive technologies, focusing on speech technologies and the development of the Macedonian speech synthesis voice Suze.
