FEIT signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Institute for the Advancement of Life Activities [“IUZA”](https://add-for-life.com/) – Belgrade, Serbia, which establishes the framework within which the cooperation between the two institutions is realized for the implementation of research, educational and applied activities and projects of mutual interest, based on the utilization of the scientific-expert, professional, material-technical and spatial capacities of the signatories. The Memorandum was signed by Dr. Sc. Miško Subotić, Director of the Institute, and Prof. Dr. Vladimir Atanasovski, Dean of FEEIT. The subject of the cooperation is the development of modern technologies for the analysis and processing of speech and biomedical signals including Electroencephalograms (EEG) for the purpose of diagnosis and therapy of speech disorders through the application of electrical engineering and information technologies.
In continuation of the ceremony, a series of lectures was organized in which representatives of the Institute spoke about their research and application activities in the field of speech disorders. First, Dr. Sc. Miško Subotić presented the Institute, including its historical development, focusing on the developed hardware and software systems and methodologies. Then, Dr. Liljana Jeličić presented the work on the use of brain waves obtained with EEG for the diagnosis of children with neurodevelopmental disorders.
On the Macedonian side, Prof. Dr. Silvana Markovska-Simoska from BrainARC Skopje spoke about their on the diagnosis of ADHD and Autism with the help of EEG. Margarita Gulevska from the Association for Assistive Technologies “Open the Windows” spoke about the application of assistive technologies in Macedonia as an enabler for digital inclusion. Finally, Prof. Dr. Branislav Gerazov spoke about the results achieved within the master thesis of MSc Dance Papuchieva at FEEIT in the pursuit of biomarkers for diagnosing ADHD and Autism based on EEG signals.
