10. | Course Goals (acquired competencies):
Knowledge of active and passive components in CMOS and their parasitic elements. Understanding of first order transistor models for manual design and their limits. designing basic primitives of analog, digital, and mixed signal circuits. Design and simulation tools application. |

Overview of CMOS components modelling: passive, parasitics, MOS transistors at large and small signals. CMOS amplifiers: amplification and bandwidth, cascades, differential amplifier. Current and voltage sources: current mirrors, voltage references. CMOS operational amplifiers. Stability and frequency compensation, Output stages. Noise in CMOS circuits (thermal, 1/f, Amplifier noise, chopper stabilization. CMOS logic stuctures. Data converters. D/A current and voltage scaling. Comparators. Integrating A/D. Charge distribution A/D, Sigma-Delta A/D. Switched-capacitors filters. Continuous time filters. PLL. CAD and simulation software. |
