9. Course Prerequisites
Passed: Fundamentals of electrical engineering
10. Course Goals (acquired competencies): Acquisition of basic knowledge and application of software tools for design of low voltage electrical installations and lighting in residential, commercial, industrial and public buildings.
11. Course Syllabus: Labeling of power and installation cables. Electrical installation systems. Elements of electrical installations (fuses, circuit breakers, circuit breaker, arc protection device, insulation meter and controller, surge protection devices). Electric shock protection under normal operating conditions and during fault. Cable sizing. Protection of buildings from atmospheric discharge. Construction of low voltage electrical installations. Installations in buildings, business and industrial buildings. Installations in buildings with risk of fire and explosion. Reliable and backup power supply. Software tools for designing electrical installations, making single-pole and three-pole schemes. Preparation of a project for electrical installation.

19. Conditions for acquiring teacher’s signature and for taking final exam Making a project assignment and laboratory exercises.
20. Forms of assessment Two mid/end-term exams (120 min each), or final exam (120 min). Exams consist of only written section.
Student must complete and submit the required homework and project assignments, according to the mutually agreed schedule at the beginning of the semester.
Final mark is determined from the weighted average of scores from exams, homework, and project assignments.
During the exams it is allowed to use standards in printed form. Calculators are allowed, but not mobile phones, tablets or similar electronic devices.
