10. Course Goals (acquired competencies): Students who successfully complete an internship will be able to: apply gained academic knowledge to real-world challenges in an internship environment; understand the workplace dynamic, professional expectations and influence of culture on both; articulate a reflection about what makes the company succeed in its field, how it operates as a community, what main issues it has to face, both internally and on the market, what they can bring to a professional environment, how they can draw skills from experience and process challenges, how they can contribute to a company’s project and teamwork.
11. Course Syllabus: The student internship is realized in a professional work environment. It is designed to provide students with opportunities to make connections between the learned theory during the academic studies and its practical application in a professional work environment. Internship placements are directly related to the student’s program of study and provide learning experiences not available in the classroom setting. Internships provide entry-level, career-related experience, and workplace competencies that employers value when hiring new employees. The internship is guided by learning goals and reflective assignments and it is supervised academically by a faculty member and professionally by a work-site supervisor. Тhe duration of the internship is at least 60 days.
