10. Course Goals (acquired competencies):

With successful passing of this course, the candidate will acquire the competencies to perform control tests on electrical machines and transformers, to use standards for testing equipment, as well as to prepare test protocols.

11. Course Syllabus:

Selection of testing equipment. Preparing activities for testing / inspection. Default testing of electrical machines and transformers. Methods of measurement: resistance, capacitance and dielectric losses in the insulation system of the windings, capacitance and dielectric losses in bushing, transformer ratio, magnetizing current with low voltage, transformer inductance, the polarization spectrum with return voltage, partial discharge based on ultrasound, noise and vibration, control of tap-changer, stator core test, temperature rise test. System for automated testing of electrical machines. Acquisition of measurement data. Methods for automated load testing. Determination of efficiency: the direct method, recuperation, calorimetric method.
