10. | Course Goals (acquired competencies):
The candidates gain knowledge of dimensional measurement of geometric quantities and measurement data processing. Choice of adequate measurement unit, calibration and measurement uncertainty calculation. |

11. | Course Syllabus:
Introduction in metrology. Metrological characteristics of reference standards, measurement units and measurement machines, classification, construction, principles of operation and calibration. Measurement methods. Terms and classification of measurement errors, measurement uncertainty, tolerances of the geometric quantities; Deviation characteristics from the shape and position. Methods of surface texture measurement. Traceability chain insurance of the measurement results. Measurement units and machines controls. Computer supported measurement and measurement data acquisition. |
