9. Course Prerequisites Passed: Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering, Electric Generators and Transformers  Taken course: Electric Machines and Transformers
10. Course Goals (acquired competencies): Introduction to electrical networks, their purpose, construction performance and their parameters and equivalent schemes. Solving radial, looped and complex closed networks by calculation (analytical and computer-oriented procedures). Calculation of power and energy losses. Techno-economic analysis.
11. Course Syllabus: Basic concepts and definitions of electrical network, system and consumer/load. Task and role of power systems (PS). Classification. PS topologies. Elements of PS, constructive performance. Equivalent schemes and their parameters. Load characteristics. Working with relative units (pu). Solving radial networks. Solving looped and intricately closed networks – analytical and computer-oriented procedures. Sizing. Loss of power and energy in PS. Basics of techno-economic analysis.

19. Conditions for acquiring teacher’s signature and for taking final exam Preparation of project tasks.
20. Forms of assessment Two mid/end-term exams (120 min each), or final exam (120 min). Exams consist of written and oral section.
Student must complete and submit the required homework and project assignments, according to the mutually agreed schedule at the beginning of the semester.
Final mark is determined from the weighted average of scores from exams, homework, and project assignments.
During the exams it is allowed to use literature in printed form. Calculators are allowed, but not mobile phones, tablets or similar electronic devices.
