10.    Course Goals (acquired competencies):  Acquiring basic knowledge of low voltage electrical installations and lighting of residential, commercial, industrial and public buildings.

11.    Course Syllabus: Construction and marking of power and installation cables. Systems for electrical installations. Elements of electrical installation (fuses, automatic installation switches, current protection device, arc-fault detector, gauge and controller of isolation, devices for protection against surges). Protection against electric shock in normal exploitation conditions and in case of failure. Sizing of cables. Protection of facilities against lightning. Reactive power compensation. Design of low voltage electrical installations. Safety and backup power supply. Software tools for the design of electrical installations. Photometric calculations. Lamps. Software tools for the design of lighting systems. Making project for electrical installation.

19.    Conditions for acquiring teacher’s signature and for taking final exam Completed project assignment and laboratory exercises.
20.    Forms of assessment Two mid/end-term exams (120 min each), or final exam (120 min). Exams consist of only written section.
Student must complete and submit the required homework and project assignments, according to the mutually agreed schedule at the beginning of the semester.
Final mark is determined from the weighted average of scores from exams, homework, and project assignments.
During the exams it is allowed to use standards in printed form. Calculators are allowed, but not mobile phones, tablets or similar electronic devices
