10.    Course Goals (acquired competencies):  This course provides students with skills and techniques necessary for quality planning and quality control. This course will focus primarily to the standards and regulations in the power engineering and to the the methods for establishing quality management systems in the companies from the power sector
11.    Course Syllabus: The meaning of Quality and Quality Management (QM) System. The engineer as a specialist.Engineers’ competences and the role of QM.Business aspects of quality.What are the tools and techniques for QM? Managing quality using the process approach.Process capability. The implementation of Statistical Process Control.Managing quality using ISO 9000. How ISO 9000 made us think about quality.Benefits of ISO certification. Enforcement of energy control. Energy audit. Manner of estimation of basic energy consumption. Acts for liberalization of the electricity market. IEEE and IEC standards in the field of electrical engineering. Quality Assurance System
