Course Goals (acquired competencies): Understanding of contemporary telecommunication networks’ structures, ability for analysis and network design, and clear vision of future developments of telecommunication networking.
Course Syllabus: Overview of transmission techniques (channel and packet) and transmission infrastructure in modern telecommunication networks. Overview of broadband access technologies. Advanced access telecommunication networks. xDSL, cable access, PLC, wireless access. Basics of MPLS and GMPLS. Concept of Carrier Ethernet. Routing (algorithms (classification and characteristics). Advanced management solutions. IMS. Integration. Development of NGN. Service examples. Teletraffic engineering of NFN. All-IP networks (throughput, delay). Overview of technologies for wireless networking. Standardization and regulations in telecommunication networks. Case study example. Overview of wireless and mobile advanced networking solutions. development trends in telecommunication networks.
