Degree: Master of Science in Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies in the field of Renewable Energy Sources

The aim of this study program is to educate personnel according to the needs in the contemporary trends in industry and power sector, based upon the educational quality criteria of the University. It contains fundamental disciplines in the field of renewable energy sources (RES), associated with novel investigations and knowledge, as well as a number of new disciplines that have been developed in accordance with the modern scientific knowledge in the field of RES. This study program is structured in such a way that enables students to achieve knowledge and competences necessary for master of science in the sector of renewable energy sources. Students that gain this diploma are capable for working in companies involved in design and production of equipment for RES, as well as in companies for production, transmission, distribution and utilization of electricity

After graduation in this study program there is also a possibility for work in public administration correlated with preparation of low regulations concerning standards and directives in accordance with EU recommendations. Professionals in this field will also cover the scope of work of IEC and ISO organisations, as well as utilization of technical standards in different topics connected to electrical engineering with the emphasis of electrical devices with higher efficiency, liberalized electricity market and tariff system for development of RES.

The study program is developed in accordance with the criteria, tasks and aims of the Faculty of electrical engineering and IT (FEEIT) to maintain the high level standards in the education of high quality professionals. This study program is structured upon the experience in education in similar study programs in the past and their permanent development, as well as based upon the permanent improvement and continuous collaboration with the industry.

The proposed study program incorporates a wide area of knowledge in the field of RES, that will enable students to gain knowledge in different principles of energy conversion from renewable sources to electricity, the design, exploitation, maintenance, control and planning, as well as running in autonomy or grid connected system.
