10. Course Goals (acquired competencies): The student will study the types of antennas used in modern telecommunications systems, both in base stations and in mobile user devices. The student will be able to interpret and create antenna specifications.
11. Course Syllabus: Applied antennas for base stations: 3G, 4G, 5G. Antennas for WLAN (WiFi) applications. Advanced antennas for radio base stations. Smart antennas. Antennas for radar applications. Antennas for handheld user devices. RFID Tag antennas. Antennas for laptops. Multiband antennas. Antennas for BAN (Body Area Networks) and PAN (Personal Area Networks). UWB (Ultra Wide Band) antennas. Deep space communications antennas. Measurement of antenna parameters.
