Lecturer: Asst. Prof. Dr. Sanja Atanasova
Course Goals (acquired competencies): To adopt the basic notions of the theory of differential equations. The student to be able to classify differential equations, to apply different methods for solving differential equations, to be able to formulate and solve problems, and use differential equations as a mathematical model for various phenomena in electrical engineering and information technologies.
Course Syllabus: Differential equations, types and qualitative analysis. Existence and uniqueness of the solution of the differential equation. Differential and integral inequalities and some comparison theorems. Dependence on the initial conditions from a parameter. Linear and quasilinear partial differential equations of first order. Partial differential equations of second order. Boundary problems for elliptic equations. Koshi’s problem for a parabolic equation. The problem of Storm-Liouville.
