10. Course Goals (acquired competencies): Students will obtain basic pre-knowledge of exploitation of renewable energy sources and energy conversion from renewables to electrical.
11. Course Syllabus: General aspects and comparison of conventional and renewable energy sources (RES). Types of RES. Fundamentals elements of energy conversion from different RES. RES system topology. Exploitation of solar energy. Biomass as RES. Hydro energy – water flows, tidal and wave energy. Wind energy. Fuel cells. Autonomous and grid connected operation of RES systems. Hybrid RES systems. Environmental impacts of RES. RES Economy.
