Course Goals (acquired competencies): Obtaining knowledge for configurations and sizing оf hybrid power systems. Familiarizing with the concept of microgrids and with the methods for energy flows control.
Course Syllabus: Concepts and advantages of hybrid power systems. Basic characteristics of a photovoltaic generators, wind generators, diesel generator sets, and biomass and biogas facilities. Characteristics of energy storage components. Micro co-generation facilities. Topologies and sizing of stand-alone and grid-connected hybrid power systems. Concept of micro-grids and efficient use of energy. Operational regimes and power flows. Monitoring, control and settings of hybrid power systems. Techno-economic analysis. Practice, applications and examples.
