Course Goals (acquired competencies): Upon completing the course Strategic Planning for Telecommunication and Internet Innovation is expected that the student will be able to understand the main principles of strategic planning and innovation in the telecom and Internet environment. It is expected to be ready to create policies and development strategies as well as to possess knowledge of telecom and Internet innovation management.
Course Syllabus: Convergence in telecommunications. Broadband strategies and innovations. Development of policies. The Role of Standards. Management of innovation. Google model, user-generated content. Apple iPhone model. Mobile and Internet telephony. Innovation in television (IPTV applications). Killer Services / Applications. Network neutrality, spectral neutrality. Managing and regulating the Internet.
