10. Course Goals (acquired competencies): Students will be introduced to the principles of management in telecommunication networks, management of multimedia services and applications. | ||||||||
11. Course Syllabus: Principles of telecommunication network management. Standards and standardization bodies. Models of communication networks: OSI model, TMN, TCP/IP model of network management. Network Management Functions. FCAPS model. Fault management. Configuration management. Accounting. Performance management. Security Management. Management protocols: SMTP, NetConf, NetFlow. Managing elements in the network, services and applications (web, AAA). Policy-based management. WEB services and their management. Managing IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) services. Commercial and open source tools for management of communication networks. |

The final grade includes exam points, project assignment points, homework points and laboratory exercise points. It is not allowed to use books, scripts, manuscripts or notes of any kind during the exam, as well as a calculator, mobile phone, tablet or any other electronic device |
