Course Goals (acquired competencies): Actively following the lectures and successfully passing the exam, the candidate will gain knowledge of meaning and principles of innovation as a driving force for improving technical achievements, as well as knowledge of the role of technology transfer in modern conditions of global industrialization. Students will acquire competencies for assessment and procedures for protection of intellectual and industrial property.
Subject of the course content: Innovation systems at national and international level. The role of innovation in the development of the economy. Innovative processes. Infrastructure for innovation support. Activities in innovation processes from idea to final product. Active participants in innovation processes. Scientific research and innovation. What is technology transfer (TT). TT and its importance for innovation. Active participants in the TT process. University and TT. Role of industry, companies and state institutions in the TT process. Public-private partnership and TT.
